For Clinton County Commissioner
.
Increased public safety funding and employee retention. I am committed to providing adequate resources for modern day Clinton County to our prosecutor’s office, sheriff’s office, court system and 911 central dispatch.
Employee retention and ensuring Clinton County is doing all that can be done to retain employees and promote long term employment which brings experience and value to the services we provide. Clinton County is losing good employees at an alarming rate specifically in our public safety departments. Our current board chair has stated it’s just the reality of us not being able to pay what the state of Michigan does or other municipalities. I say we need to get creative and figure out other incentives we can offer to be competitive. I will not give up on this and simply accept defeat like we are now.
To transition Clinton County to open a public defender’s office instead of the current system that we have. Many defense attorneys are taking advantage of this system and benefitting financially from it. This system needs improvement and accountability. Every county surrounding Clinton County has moved to this model.
Advocate for fiscal responsibility and directing county tax dollars where our residents get the most return for the money they spend.
Support the continuation of the development of broadband internet accessibility for the county-wide initiative.

I am a proud husband and father of two children who attend Laingsburg Public Schools. I am the co-owner of Wiswasser Bros Farms and operate that with my brother. We farm several parcels of land in both Clinton and Shiawassee counties.
I am also a 15 year law enforcement veteran in this county and have devoted my career to keeping our community safe. I am also a 15 year law enforcement veteran in this county and have devoted my career to keeping our community safe. I started my career at Bath Charter Township Police Dept, as a police cadet and then as an officer. I then took a position as a deputy sheriff at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office where I served in both the road patrol and detective bureau. During my time in the detective bureau I was assigned to a multi-jurisdictional task force managed by the Michigan State Police, where we targeted enforcement activities of controlled substances, weapons offenses, and organized narcotic criminal enterprises. This position gave me valuable experience in working across a wide range of counties and jurisdictions and seeing how other counties around us operate in the public safety setting.
While serving in the road patrol at the sheriff’s office, I served in many different roles including as a Field Training Officer, where I trained multiple new deputies as they were hired. I also was a SWAT operator on our Clinton County Special Operations Team. Additionally, I also wrote and executed a state grant in which Clinton County was awarded for the purchase of a Tru-Narc narcotics analyzer. This was a piece of equipment that was over $30,000 which is used for testing and analyzing narcotics instantly.
I currently am a road patrol Sergeant at Dewitt Charter Township Police Dept. I still serve as an operator on our Clinton County Special Operations Team, am the commander of the field training officer program at DTPD, and a force on force instructor where we conduct real world scenarios using weapons designed for simulation
I come from a long family history of public service and dedication to our communities. My great grandfather was the first chief of police for Bath Charter Township. My grandfather owned and operated Jacks Garage on Park Lake in Bath for over a half of century. My father currently serves on the Bath Charter Township board as the treasure
I come from a long family history of public service and dedication to our communities. My great grandfather was the first chief of police for Bath Charter Township. My grandfather owned and operated Jacks Garage on Park Lake in Bath for over a half of century. My father currently serves on the Bath Charter Township board as the treasurer and has a long history of service on that board.
I am committed to our community as I have deep ties to it. I have chosen to raise my family here, run my businesses here, live here, and also defend my community by serving in law enforcement in this county. I am now looking to further my service by being elected as a County Commissioner for our District. I believe our representative from District #1 should be someone who has VESTED interest in the communities that make up our District and someone who ACTUALLY LIVES here, not just someone who feels they are entitled to “next in line” due to their cronyism within their political party. If elected as our next County Commissioner, I can assure you that no one will work harder for us in District #1 than myself. I have proven myself to be a man of integrity, transparency and ethics and I will not be unduly influenced or pressured to back down on issues that are in the best interests of the people and businesses of our District and our County as a whole. I assure you that I will not fall victim to special interest or corruption. I have demonstrated that by challenging my opponent who falsely claims to live within our district, and had I not she would have been unopposed. I am a voice for the people of my district NOT special interest or partisan politics.
Help me win this election so I can get to work! Handing out flyers, setting out signs, and donations are all great ways to help, but I also want to hear from you! Together, I believe we can find the solutions so our County district can improve. Please, reach out via email or text and get involved!
